2 Day Foundation Training with Four Work Discussion Sessions

Togetherness Foundation Training for professionals is designed to support and enhance emotional health and wellbeing. It looks at the Solihull Approach model as integrative theories and applies to practical examples to consider the importance of relationships and nurturing connected, sensitive and responsive interactions.

This package includes four Work Discussion sessions as follow-up to the training, supporting teams to embed the principles of the training and realise the full value by considering real case studies in a supported environment. Each session is two hours, at three to four weekly intervals.

Developed by psychologists, child psychotherapists, and practitioners, the Foundation Training is evidence-based and highly rated across sectors. It introduces a way of thinking and working with families, groups or in one-to-one interactions that transcends professions and communities.

The Approach helps practitioners to understand more about brain development to read and shape behaviour, communication, and emotional health.

What difference will it make?

The Foundation Training is designed to equip practitioners with an effective approach to supporting families and improving emotional health and wellbeing for children and their parents or carers. The training explains the fundamentals of early brain development in accessible, relevant terms to support a range of professions. Equipped with this knowledge and working through a series of real-life case studies both in the two days and the Work Discussion sessions prepares practitioners to engage families and young people with confidence and to make a real and lasting impact.

The Work Discussion sessions provide practitioners with further opportunities to reflect on the model and its application in their workplace with peers.

The Togetherness team are passionate about early intervention and responsive relationships supporting mental health and wellbeing. The Solihull Approach model at the heart of all our training and resources has a significant evidence base both quantitative and qualitative showing the improvements for:

  • the parent-child relationship

  • child prosocial behaviour
